T.W.I.R.L. changes
The secret is (almost) out. T.W.I.R.L. is releasing in just 1 week, on August 10th.
This is our studio's first game, and we are excited and humbled to share that we have surpassed 15,000 Wishlists! The journey of sharing of our game, and talking about the themes and meanings within the story has been emotionally challenging, but tremendously fulfilling. Let us be the first to admit - this is an odd story to debut with. And it's something we get reminded of especially when trying to explain it to people without giving anything away. But in the same way that we intend for this game to impact players with a feeling of reassurance, hope, and a better understanding of self, your overwhelming support has granted the same for us.
On launch day, we will be releasing a free SECRET ENDING update that can be unlocked by completing both endings in the main game. We're in the process of making finishing touches on this section of the game, as well as implementing other quality of life updates based on player feedback from the demo and itch.io early access version.
A couple of things in advance:
There is an optional "visual indicator" that can be turned on or off, based on player preference, that gives a better understanding for interactable objects and story objectives. It's subtle, but noticeable enough to not cause confusion.
A "sprint" button will be unlocked in all chapters after completing the main story for the first time. In order to stay true to the character and intended experience of our story, we feel it best to walk as our protagonist walks, at least once.
Brightness will be much more flexible, especially on Steam Deck. While this has been a challenge to balance properly in order to stay true to the atmosphere of the world and the character, we feel that this will be a great added benefit.
As we take the rest of the week to finish everything up, we'll be continuing to announce new updates for the game, including an eventual "developers commentary" mode, behind the scenes, bloopers, and more.
We'll also be attending multiple events before the end of the year, including PAX West 2026 in Seattle as part of the Indie Incubator section. If you'll be there, come find us at booth II26 and say hi!
Thank you again for your incredible support. We cannot wait for you to experience our first game. If you haven't already, don't forget to add the game to your Wishlist, and join our discord community to stay in touch!
See you in 1 week.
