A whole ton of debugging and improvements have been added into the Demo in the past 3 days. Demo is now polished and ready for Steam's June Fest (thank you, Phobie). The Demo is now polished and ready for Steam's Summer Fest.
Endless mode is now unlocked for the Demo. There's no limit to how many times players can reproduce, as long as the available resources (food, oxygen) can support life. Multiply and flourish.
Endosymbiosis now auto-activates on the 15th evolution instead of the 9th, allowing players to enjoy extended upgrades before deciding on host takeover.
Food sizes are enlarged to make capturing easier.
Redundant descriptions of evolution upgrades (e.g., basal body, nucleus, etc.) have been removed since they occupy much space, allowing for more upgrade extensions.
Several brief pointers have been added at the start of the game to inform players about vital stats (Health, Energy, and Temperature), easing the understanding of the game during onboarding.
Tips have been added to help players prioritize the most necessary skills in the early stages of the game.
New upgrade extensions have been added (Photoreceptor II, Inorganic Metabolizer II, Thylakoids II, and Cell Wall II).
Upon Endosymbiosis activation, host organisms emit a pulsating blue glow during fission (reproduction) to signal to players that they are viable hosts for takeover. There is only a short window of opportunity to capture your host during that time.
Additionally, players can now choose to confirm or deny their host upon collision instead of automatic confirmation. In the event of second thoughts, they can deny the host and seek out other viable hosts for takeover. Note: This feature is enabled only when Endosymbiosis is active.
The user interface has been improved to allow players to get a glimpse of some upgrades and how they work before making a choice.
