Repeated intro
Greetings mighty gladiators! Its hard to believe ( and kind of cool to think ) Swords and Sandals is now over 20 years old! Truly they say time flies and it does feel like an eternity since I first coded up the little cartoon gladiators who would enter the arena back in Swords and Sandals I.

addedWhat's even cooler, in my opinion, is that the S&S series has some of the most awesome dedicated fans a game developer could ever hope for. Over the years they've been making mods for the various S&S games, extending them and changing all sorts of parameters to give them a whole new life. Some of the most popular mods I started adding to the Classic Collection a few years ago and I have the privilege to announce there are now five more in the series!
changedCaveat - these are totally untested by me. Like I have no idea what's going on in them, I can't vouch for their quality, balance etc. I'm old these days and I've fought one too many gladiator battles haha, it does my head in to try and go back and play some of the old S&S games. (Too many war wounds, too many memories!)
addedWhat I can vouch for is these fan modders are tireless and beloved members of the Swords and Sandals Discord and honestly they know the games better than I do. So if you're looking for a challenge, something different or even just a fresh look at the classic series, there's never been a better time to dive back into the arena. ( Not literally, you'll just get a faceful of sand.) Swords and Sandals Classic Collection latest new mods:
fixed[EDIT 29 June - some of the S&S 3 mods broke during this build but I have hopefully fixed them in the latest patch 1.8.0 !] Anyway, I just want to take a moment to thank anyone who has ever modded a game, left a review, send me a comment, or even just sang along to the gladiatooooor theme song. While I'm not currently working on any Swords and Sandals games right now ( I'm two years into Lair of the Leviathan , a massive old school pixel art RPG ) , my heart will always lie in Brandor and I hope to return to the arena someday!
