Swords & Crystals Online changes
A huge new update has arrived, bringing tons of new content, systems, balance changes, and fixes to greatly expand and improve the overall game experience.
🌋NEW
A real volcano is now visible on Dark Volcano Island
Live Top 10 highest-level players can now be seen in the Rank Panel
Daily Quests and Group Quests have been added
Several new interactable objects have been added to the world, including crackable eggs, breakable nuts, and openable shells
The number of unique items has been increased from 93 to 200+
The number of unique quests has been increased from 25 to 101
Seasonal events have been added for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas
The Alchemy skill has been added, allowing players to brew their own potions with 10 unique recipes
The Smithing skill has been added, allowing players to forge their own gear with 25 unique recipes
Mining ores can now be forged into bars at Forge Ovens
Several new achievements have been added
⚖️CHANGES
Removed all pay-to-win in-game currency DLCs and replaced them with new cosmetic DLCs
Balanced all combat values, including gear, enemies, HP, damage, armor, food, and enemy abilities
Reworked several uninteresting achievements into more meaningful ones
Balanced XP gain across all 10 skills for a more consistent leveling rate
Alchemy, Mining, and Fishing skills are now required to gather certain herbs, ores, and fish
The entire economy has been rebalanced, with every item value and cost adjusted
Sell value for all items has been reduced from 50% to 10% of the purchase price
Leveling is now approximately 7x slower, providing longer progression per zone, more challenge, more quests, and a much longer overall gameplay experience
🛠️FIXES
Fixed all desync-related bugs, including rollbacks and lost items or progress
Fixed achievements that were not properly triggering
Reduced unnecessary transmitted buffers
Slight performance optimizations
🚧 CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
A first basic player-to-player item trading system
A more PC-friendly GUI using buttons instead of a scroll-based layout, while still maintaining a great experience on Steam Deck and with controllers
