Dear Sweet Surrender players,

As some of you know, we’ve been working very hard on the next update of Sweet Surrender! In the past 3 months, we’ve already added over 40 new chips (also known as 41) and introduced the long-awaited 3rd chip slot! All of these are available in our current Beta (details on how to access the Beta at the end).

We have been distributing these changes to our beta testers, and are committed to adding even more chips for this update. In fact, we were supposed to release a bunch of new chips today!

However, there seemed to have been a miscommunication between our developers. When requested to “add a bunch more chips”, one of the developers thought that we need RAM chips. He bought 2 whole 8GB sticks of DDR4 RAM, which ate up the rest of the budget for this update.

Our other developer thought we meant potato chips instead. Now, that doesn’t seem too bad, but he bought 5… full family-sized bags! WE CAN’T FINISH ALL OF THAT!!

And just to top it all off, in a desperate attempt to make back the costs, I realized that there was only one possible type of chip that could save us: poker chips. It was a great plan! We were able to make a full $500 after only investing $16,000.

Completely out of budget, we had no idea how we were supposed to get enough chips for the beta… Then we realized… we never said that the chips had to actually be… good… As long as they were still technically in the game, we could get away with saying we added as many chips as we wanted, without being called out for false advertising!

So now… introducing the new useless chip categories, also known as

SLOPGRADE CHIPS!

They’re even more rare than the legendary chips and they’re completely useless! We added a bunch of these for you to discover, and hopefully ignore and forget about.

But if you thought we were being too lazy, don’t worry. Some of these chips aren’t completely worthless. In fact, some of them are quite detrimental!

Jokes aside, this beta preview also includes dozens of new real chips that we put a lot of work into. We look forward to your feedback! For details on the major changes, check out our dev diaries:
