While most of the improvements are for non-VR players, there's still plenty to enjoy in VR as well! So, take the train back down to Kotobuki Town and immerse yourself in Sushi Ben ! Botan is excited to see you again! We also have stickers available now! Head over to our website and grab some while supplies last. International shipping is available to most regions. These were previously only available at conventions, but now everyone can enjoy them! We'll be adding additional merch soon, so check back for keychains and other goodies! Steam post image

VR

  • Native support for Steam Frame! We're excited to announce that Sushi Ben is a great experience on Steam Frame. Enjoy a smooth, comfortable native experience.

  • Improved support for Valve Index controllers! Finger tracking has been improved and grip mechanics are a lot smoother. The game should be more enjoyable and easier to play.

  • Lots of minor improvements! From fixing grip issues during dialogue to improving item handling, we've done a lot to make the game feel better to play in VR.

Non-VR

  • Universal Button Prompts! Every interaction in the game now has a button prompt, so you’ll quickly know how to interact with every tool and character. There’s full support for multiple controller types as well as keyboard and mouse.

  • Improvement to all Tools! Interacting with tools is substantially easier and more natural. This means the game is more fun to play overall.

  • Orthographic Menus! Menus now look and feel significantly more natural. It's a subtle change, but it makes a world of difference when it comes to navigating the menus.

  • Snappier Menu Navigation! Selecting menu items is generally a nicer experience. You probably won't even notice this one. But it makes us happier, so hopefully you'll enjoy it too.

General

  • New Grab Indicator! This one sounds really obvious, but we've heard your feedback and made it much more obvious which items you're trying to pick up.

  • Tool Wheel selections are easier than ever before! Improved accuracy when selecting tools makes it easier to play. Gamepads, mouse, and VR controls all feel a little bit nicer.

  • Faster initial loading! We've streamlined the startup process so you can get into the game faster, particularly on lower-end systems.

  • Enhanced Cheats! There are new ways to cheat and cheats now remain enabled between play sessions. This is mostly to make our lives easier while testing, but you speedrunners might like this too.

  • Extended LOD Distance! We've made some optimizations so objects remain detailed at greater distances. The result is a game world that looks sharper and better than ever before.

  • Bug Fixes, Bug Fixes, and more Bug Fixes! If you've seen a problem mentioned on the forums or elsewhere... we've done our best to address it. We aren't going to pretend the game is bug-free now. But we've fixed a LOT of them! Please let us know if you run into bugs. We'll do our best to get them fixed as quickly as we can. The more specific you can be about the issue you're facing, the faster we'll be able to resolve it for you.
