Suitcase Stories changes
Hi everyone,
Ramon here π
Suitcase Stories has been out for a while now, and I read everything you write. I don't have a patch ready to announce yet, but I wanted to say something before I do. It seems fair that you know the problems reached me and that I'm working on them.
Thank you to everyone who left a review, especially the ones who wrote honestly about what they thought. That's how I find out where I got things wrong. Without it I'd be busy fixing what already works. Same goes for the reviews that recommended the game and the ones that didn't.
What I'm working on now
Small objects falling out of the suitcase and disappearing behind it (the screwdriver is the one that comes up most)
Objects showing on top when they should be tucked inside the suitcase
The hint for level 5-2 is wrong
Performance improvements
Next
Rebuilding the hint system. This was the most useful piece of criticism I got. It isn't a bug, it was my design decision, and it was a bad one. Showing a screenshot of the full solution leaves no room for someone who only wanted a small nudge. I'm rebuilding it so hints come in stages.
After that
A new chapter, with five new suitcases and another piece of the story
Issues I already know about
All of these came from you, and all of them are written down:
Snapping is too strict on some objects
No brightness control inside the game
Reports of stuttering even on capable PCs
Too few levels with multiple solutions
Found a bug? Got a suggestion?
Send it all through here, bugs or ideas: feedback and bug report form
For bugs, telling me what you were doing at the time and attaching a screenshot if you can makes a big difference in how fast I can fix it.
I'm not going to give dates. I'm one developer, and any date I give now turns into a broken promise later. But this is the order, and I'll post here as each piece is done.
And if you're enjoying the game, leaving a review helps a small studio a lot.
Thank you for playing, and for the patience. π§³
