Sudden Strike 5 – Demo Now Live!

The new and improved Sudden Strike 5 Demo is now available for download.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who played the Steam Next Fest demo of Sudden Strike 5 and shared their feedback. We’ve heard you loud and clear and your reports have been incredibly valuable and have helped us identify the most critical issues.

We took a step back, reviewed everything, and focused on reworking the demo. This updated version addresses the issues you reported around performance, stuttering, and overall stability.

A deeper look into the important changes in the Sudden Strike 5 Demo:

• Significant improvements to performance through higher and more stable framerate. This was achieved in two major ways. First, by optimizing visual effects, resulting in reduced GPU load. As well as optimized unit animations, and therefore reducing CPU overhead when large numbers of units are on the battlefield.

• Improved combat performance by addressing reported frame drops and optimizing battle visual effects such as muzzle flashes, impact effects, and other high-intensity moments that can cause CPU and GPU spikes.

• Improved smoothness through fixed stuttering and improved frame pacing via optimizing Front Rendering and Autosave. For Autosave, we worked on garbage collection events and for Front rendering we made sure that text, mission objectives, chatters, etc. are now pre-cached and no longer loaded during runtime.

• Several gameplay improvements like better unit pathfinding.

• Units behave more dynamically now through improved responsiveness of AI patrol units.

Your feedback has been invaluable to us and the return of the improved demo is an important milestone on our way to launch, so we are looking forward to hearing what you think about the demo.
