New features, mechanics, and improvements:

  • Ventilation subsystem improvements; particles have been updated and fog colour looks more like something you shouldn’t be breathing in.

  • Two new modifiers; no vents and no faults.

  • Improved vent duct models.

  • While playing on easy difficulty, no more than 2 subsystems will ever begin faulting at the same time. In the difficulty descriptions, I’m pretty sure alpha v1.2.0 and v1.3.0 both mentioned this despite me forgetting to program it in. Whoops.

  • Updated difficulty descriptions; reworded them so they’re easier to read, and they shouldn’t get cut off by the screen anymore.

  • Interacting with subsystems, vents, and med cabinets has been improved but isn’t perfect yet. For now, if you’re trying to interact with something that for some reason won’t do anything, try moving away from it and then move back.

Changes:

  • The set FPS cap amount is positioned better (in video settings).

  • Changed how modifiers appear in-menu.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed an exploit where you could continue interacting with things as you moved away from them. As long as you were holding left mouse button and in range initially, the game didn’t care where you went.

  • In the last build there was a bug where upscaling would sometimes enable itself on launch, this shouldn’t happen anymore. Many of the default settings also weren't defaulting to the right setting, please see notes.

  • Fixed a bug where the elevator call button light would turn off too early, despite the elevator still being on its way to you.

Notes:

In alpha v1.3.0, video and gameplay settings often would set themselves to incorrect defaults after launching the game. Now, the correct defaults should be set - however this may constantly overwrite your custom settings each time you launch the game. Very sorry about this, I'll get this fixed in an upcoming update!

To get better looking particle lighting, you’ll need to use stochastic lights & shadows (at least for now). This has been the case since the last update, but I didn’t mention it then nor does the game tell you this.

Thank you!
