Strike Force Remastered changes
Today marks the biggest update Strike Force Remastered has ever received.
As part of Update 2.0, Strike Force Remastered has officially been renamed to Strike Force - War on Terror, bringing the PC version in line with the Nintendo Switch release and the rest of the Strike Force series.
This update is not a complete remake. The original foundation simply doesn't allow for that without rebuilding the game from scratch. Instead, our goal was to modernize as much as possible while preserving the original experience.
What's New?
Update 2.0 includes a wide range of improvements, including:
Updated to Unreal Engine 5.7
Updated post-processing for improved visual fidelity
Updated rendering pipeline and overall image quality
Updated sky, lighting, and weather effects
Updated several sound effects with higher-quality audio
Updated the in-game soundtrack
Updated weapon animations for smoother transitions
Updated physical material calculations for improved accuracy
Updated the multiplayer backend
Improved UI readability
Improved AI shooting and damage calculation
Improved network performance
Improved dedicated server integration
Improved dedicated server launch configuration
Reworked all 15 missions with various gameplay improvements and minor bug fixes
Replaced weapon firing sounds with higher-quality audio
Moved the dedicated server into a separate dedicated server launcher
Added the ability to select a loadout before starting a mission
Added voice over from the Nintendo Switch release.
Fixed multiplayer server browser issues
Fixed an issue where multiplayer bots could fail to spawn
Fixed several minor bugs and stability issues
Looking Ahead
When we took over the Strike Force franchise years ago, it became the foundation for everything that followed. It led to the successful launches of Strike Force 2 and Strike Force 3.
However, the original game - the one that started it all - had been left behind for far too long.
We wanted to change that.
While this update can't solve every issue the game has accumulated over the years, it lays an entirely new technical foundation. For the first time, future updates are actually feasible. If the community enjoys Update 2.0, we'd love to continue improving the game over time - and yes, even entirely new content is now possible.
This update is our way of showing that Strike Force has not been forgotten, including the titles we didn't originally develop ourselves.
Celebrate With Us
To celebrate the release of Update 2.0, we've launched a major Steam Sale.
