Streetlight Syndicate changes
Since launch, one request has come through clearly in the feedback: after becoming the Don, many players wanted to remain in the city and continue building their syndicate.
Streetlight Syndicate was designed as a complete story with a definitive ending. That has not changed; but now, earning that ending can open the door to something more.
ENTER EMPIRE MODE
Earn the good ending and become the Don to unlock Empire Mode, an optional postgame that preserves your completed campaign and lets your organization continue growing.
In Empire Mode, you can:
Face all nine rival hitmen in repeating, increasingly difficult cycles
Earn scaling Notoriety from defeated rivals
Purchase four long-term Empire expansion ranks
Raise every racket’s maximum level by 10 with each Empire rank
Unlock two additional purchasable gun levels with each rank
Continue purchasing any owner stories you missed during the campaign
Switch between Action and Chill music while running your empire
The campaign still has a beginning, middle, and end. Empire Mode is what comes afterward for players who want to keep going.
THREE SAVE SLOTS
The update also introduces three independent save slots. Your existing full-game save will be placed into Slot 1 automatically. If that save has already earned the good ending, Empire Mode will be available immediately.
The additional slots can be used to pursue alternate endings, complete achievements, or start again without sacrificing your original syndicate.
ACHIEVEMENT CHANGES
Achievement requirements have been reworked so that full completion can be earned through a good-ending campaign and continued in Empire Mode.
The bad ending is no longer required for full completion
Full Story now reflects the good ending, all owner stories, and all rival bosses
The City Never Sleeps is awarded for completing an Empire cycle
The Empire expansion branch is not required for Cornered the Market
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Expanded large-number support for long-running empires
Boost now increases weapon damage in addition to its existing effects
Corrected displayed DPS across the weapon roster
Additional interface, save, and progression fixes
This update exists because players reached the end and told me what they wished was waiting there.
I never originally planned Streetlight Syndicate as an endless game, but I’m happy with where Empire Mode landed: the story can still end, while the city can keep going for anyone who wants it to.
Thank you for playing, sharing feedback, and giving my indie game a chance.
