Street Legal Racing: Redline v2.3.1 changes
- Cachemap
Build 940 is out!
The game is noticeably more stable now, many critical issues have been resolved.
IMPORTANT: Start new career after this update. A lot of files have been modified, we recommend a clean install for this update (you can keep your old save folder). Some mods will be broken or cause regressions if installed (car/part mods will be fine).
New night race betting system
This system attempts to predict your car's 1/4 mile ET time and compares it to the ET time of your opponent. Facing a faster opponent in a night race offers better betting opportunities, including pink slip wagers, allowing you to gamble.
What else has been done:
Fully fixed the ground collision bug.
- Better framerateenabled SSE/SSE2 CPU instructions, reduced renderer CPU overhead, vertex processing is now fully performed on the GPU.
Much more generous resource cache size, less stuttering on HDD's.
Added in-game options for multisample anti-aliasing (MSAA), anisotropic filtering, V-Sync, no longer needed to force these basics via graphics driver.
Fixed a rare focus issue with fullscreen startup, which got you stuck unable to close the game or do anything else after first click.
Resource cache is only cleared when memory usage gets too high, not every time you enter or leave garage. This yields much more consistent framerate.
Fixed various bugs in engine performance calculations, leading to tach needle disappearing, and engine parts falling to 0% condition.
Engine performance calculations will auto-skip redundant steps (slight speedup).
Fixed game crash when hovering a fallen off part with mouse cursor in garage.
Fixed erratic AI behavior in the night races.
Patch for heavily deformed or otherwise misconfigured hinges causing game stability issues. This was the main reason why the game could crash from a big car crash.
Fixed the worst of the memory leaks in scripts - game is now usually safe to leave minimized.
Patch for game rarely crashing after finishing a day race.
Fixed a game crash when leaving the game minimized with an active decal preview rendered on the car while in fullscreen mode.
Fixed rare game crash related to message box queue (usually at day race start).
Fixed plugging of map water leaks causing leaks in game memory instead.
When a body part is fully destroyed, further damage to chassis now happens near the point of impact, not at part attachment point. No more weird stretched engine bays after hitting the hood very hard.
Other changes:
Lots of important contributions from EvilMcSheep related to stability of the game.
Fixed all known uninitialized variable issues.
Fixed police blowing engines upon leaving traffic.
Fixed video playback size problems (added "fit to screen" version of GfxEngine.playVideo).
Fixed racers equipped with N2O always attempting to launch in 2nd gear, then stalling.
Resolved issues with tire compatibility badges in the catalog.
Racing opponents in the city are no longer using pre-saved cars.
Fixed some wheel damage params not saving correctly.
Fixed police cars sometimes getting bugged when joining a chase.
Reverse lights react faster to gear changes.
Hinge trajectory of doors / hood / trunk will now be displaced according to chassis damage.
Rolling back some city meshes and objects for better framerate.
Removed camera inertia in Paintbooth, it was not suitable for making paintjobs.
Added "Restore defaults" button to the options menu.
The SD version of the main menu background video has been converted to 720p to prevent artifacts at certain screen resolutions.
Fixed incorrect max night race bet calculations in bet dialog.
Fixed wrong behavior of Esc hotkey in the night race opponent selection dialog.
