With Stolen Realm Survivors launching May 7, we wanted to share something more personal with everyone who supported us throughout the years.
When we finally released Stolen Realm 1.0 two years ago, the three of us had already spent over five years building it.
Before it even had a proper name, we jokingly called it “Final Baldusy” — our mashup of two games we grew up loving: Final Fantasy 7 and Baldur’s Gate 2.
We spent countless nights trying to take down the ultra boss Ruby, getting Cloud's hits to land at 9999 damage, kiting enemies across Heart of Fury mode, and accidentally fireballing each other because there was no Evocation specialty back then to save our teammates.
Those games shaped how we think about RPGs, co-op, and buildcrafting.
Building Stolen Realm Changed Our Lives
Making Stolen Realm wasn’t easy.
We spent years balancing jobs, life, and development, hoping enough people would eventually care about the game for us to keep going.
Somehow, they did.
Because of your support, we were eventually able to quit our jobs and make games full-time.
The financial pressure honestly became even scarier after that. Game development is unpredictable, and every release carries risk. But despite all of it, we were finally waking up every day to work on something we truly loved.
That’s something we’ll never take for granted.
Why Survivors?
After spending over five years on Stolen Realm, we felt ready to try something new.
We kept thinking back to the games we couldn’t stop playing like the long Diablo 2 sessions at PC Bangs, losing hardcore characters and instantly rolling new ones, and more recently getting completely hooked on Vampire Survivors and Brotato.
We wanted to create our own twist on that kind of experience: Something fast and chaotic, but still focused on meaningful progression, build experimentation, and those moments where everything finally clicks.
We told ourselves it would be a quick six-month side project.
Two years later… here we are.
⚔️ Introducing: Stolen Realm Survivors
Stolen Realm Survivors is a different kind of game, but it’s built on the same core philosophy as Stolen Realm: Experimenting with builds, growing stronger over time, and creating powerful combinations that feel uniquely yours.
Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, we wanted it to capture that same feeling of “just one more run.”
Even if Stolen Realm Survivors doesn’t end up becoming your kind of game, your support still means a lot to us.
Wishlisting the game ahead of its May 7 launch, sharing it with friends, or jumping in at release genuinely helps a small team like ours continue building what comes next.
We’re incredibly excited to return to the turn-based world of Stolen Realm in the future, and everything you do to support us now helps make that possible.
