As some of you may remember from our earlier posts, we’ve been working on Stolen Realm Survivors, a separate spin-off project set in the Stolen Realm universe. As a small team of three, we’ve been steadily developing Survivors while continuing to explore new ideas within the universe.
We wanted to share a quick update on a new system we’re currently working on, focused on adding new kinds of decision-making moments during a run.
Introducing: Quests
We’re preparing a new system for Stolen Realm Survivors:
Quests — mid-run events where players choose between different options that can influence what happens next.
Some of these are inspired by the world of Stolen Realm, drawing from its tone, encounters, and sense of unpredictability.
The goal with Quests is to:
Add more variety between runs
Introduce meaningful decisions alongside combat
Create moments that can shift how a run unfolds
New Playtest Wave
We’ll be opening a new playtest wave soon featuring this system, along with other improvements and refinements based on previous feedback.
This playtest will help us evaluate:
How these decision moments feel during runs
Their impact on pacing and flow
How they interact with different builds and playstyles
A Word on Stolen Realm
We’re continuing to support Stolen Realm, and after Stolen Realm Survivors launches, we’re planning to spend more time improving Stolen Realm and addressing outstanding issues and bugs as we continue development.
