addedUPDATED - Removed new portraits from the game. Since I cannot confirm that these were not generated by AI, they have been removed. When you reload a save, the old portraits will be assigned. If you don't like the assignment, open the inventory , select a crew member [F1-F4], and click the portrait in the upper left of the screen. This will open the EDIT CREW panel. Scroll through the portraits, select one, and then click the assign button.
addedFurther, if you do not like the old portraits, you can add your own. Open the game folder->PLAYER_PORTRAITS folder. Inside will be an "Instructions.txt". Open that in Notepad for details. You can create new portraits for yourself and replace the existing portraits in this folder. These are additive, so whatever is placed in here with the correct naming convention and as a ".jpg" file will get loaded into the game. Using the process above by clicking a crew member's portrait in inventory, you will find that any added portraits are available in the EDIT CREW panel.
addedFor those of you who did like the new portraits, I paid for them, and you are welcome to add them to the game yourself. They can be found at the following link. Inside the zip file, you will find a text file with a disclaimer and instructions for installing them. It's pretty easy. I know some of you are attached to them, as I've had numerous e-mails asking for them. Feel free to host them wherever you want to. If you decide to add these and already have custom portraits, make sure to check the naming conventions so you do not overwrite your custom portraits. Here is the link:
addedUPDATED - Increased size of the faction window so fonts are legible. UPDATED - When turning in the mission "Retrieve Dr. Rhamus' logs" on the Dauntless, added additional information to the log so you know where Dr. Jensen is hiding ( back area of Crew Quarters B). UPDATED - You should find more iron ore when mining. Drones will retrieve more iron ore.
fixedFIXED - Typos in various places. FIXED - You can retrieve drones in other systems from the UNIVERSE MAP log screen [L]. FIXED - Added limits for quicksaves. No quicksaves while dialog is being processed, no quicksaves while crew members are moving, no quicksaves while combat is initializing, no quicksaves while interacting. Your crew must be idle (not moving) in order to quicksave going forward. This avoids a conflict where a quicksave can be triggered at inappropriate times. That should cover the edge cases, however, if you see problems again with quicksaves, let me know and provide instructions for reproducing the error. FIXED - Spamming various keys/control buttons like crouch/stand, enter/leave combat etc. could lockup the game or put it in a state where the next time you enter combat, the game would lock up. FIXED - In some cases (rarely) critical dialog triggers were ignored when moving over them causing blocked mission progression. I had to re-export a number of game assets after a fix for this, so, this is a fairly large update as far as download size. If you are on the Dauntless and you are in a state where you have no mission in the following cases, here is what to do:
