Welcome to the second developer blog of Startelf - Der Fußballmanager. My name is Sandor and I am the developer of the game.

After talking about rather basic things last time, I would like to present something substantive today, namely the planned league structure of the game. I don't know how you like to play, but I've always liked to work my way up from the bottom to the top. In Player's Eleven you could start at the eighth league, but there was only one league per level.

Startelf is supposed to be much more realistic in that respect. Although it doesn't go down to the eighth level, but only to the sixth, it is original. In total, therefore, there are exactly 60 playable leagues for Germany: The first three leagues, five fourth leagues, 15 fifth leagues and 37 sixth leagues. So whether you want to start in North Schleswig-Holstein or South Baden, or in one of the 5 Bavarian sixth leagues, in Startelf you can work your way up from the bottom. The original promotion rules will of course also be implemented.

However, this can cause problems. Sixty leagues for Germany alone naturally mean somewhat greater computing power. If you also want to play internationally, the game could quickly become slow. However, I take this into account: you can select individual "league branches", for example from Berlin's sixth league to the first league, etc. You are completely open, you can choose the league you want to play in. You are completely open, you can only select the leagues you really want to play in. The others are then simulated much more simply, which saves computing power and RAM.

But what would this league structure be if you couldn't play the regional national cups? These are therefore fully implemented, and as original as possible. In some competitions, higher-ranked teams enter later. I have taken this into account, and the teams in question do indeed enter the competition later. In Startelf, all 21 national cups are played and, just like in real life, the finals all take place on the same day. The winners qualify for the German national cup. The Super Cup is also added, of course, so that a total of 83 competitions can be played in Germany.

However, I will only do a similarly deep structure for England. The other countries will go more to the second or third level.
