addedA short recap:Territory Mode is a new game mode specifically designed for replayability . A range of new maps has been created specifically for Territory Mode. In these maps, you can choose which units to use from the base game and from all DLCs that you own. For example, you can play with the Raising Hell DLC mercenaries against the new Bugs from the Urban Onslaught DLC. In this game mode, Federation and Arachnid forces battle it out over Resource Points. These points reward the player with the necessary resources required to purchase units, replace casualties and invest in new technologies . Now, let’s dive into another topic: the new and improved Arachnid AI , designed to test your tactical skills as you fight for every inch of territory.
addedDefenses and expansionsWhen you start a new Territory Mode map, it will be crawling with Arachnids that won’t surrender their territory without a fight. While you expand your territory, the Bugs will try to retake it from nearby areas. If your defenses are poorly placed, the Bugs will outflank you and pierce through your territory.
addedArachnid World EventsWhile the Arachnids often rely on overwhelming the MI in head-to-head combat, they do have other tricks up their sleeves. (do Bugs have sleeves?) A new tactic they have: While the MI is hard at work on the frontline, pushing forward and claiming territory, the Bugs will sneakily burrow through the ground to attack your back line. Make sure to keep some back up defenses and turrets in your territory!

A short recap:

Territory Mode is a new game mode specifically designed for replayability. These points reward the player with the necessary resources required to purchase units, replace casualties and invest in new technologies. Now, let’s dive into another topic: the new and improved Arachnid AI, designed to test your tactical skills as you fight for every inch of territory.

Defenses and expansions

When you start a new Territory Mode map, it will be crawling with Arachnids that won’t surrender their territory without a fight. While you expand your territory, the Bugs will try to retake it from nearby areas. If your defenses are poorly placed, the Bugs will outflank you and pierce through your territory.

The more territory points you capture, the more paths the Bugs have to attack your territory. To hold the Arachnids at bay, you can rely on the multiple turret types provided by the Federation.

To keep the endless flow of Arachnid attacks on your territory running, the Bugs constantly reinforce their own territory from hives. Fed Intel has confirmed that clearing out all the hives in an area will neutralize the Arachnid threat.

Arachnid World Events

While the Arachnids often rely on overwhelming the MI in head-to-head combat, they do have other tricks up their sleeves. (do Bugs have sleeves?) A new tactic they have: While the MI is hard at work on the frontline, pushing forward and claiming territory, the Bugs will sneakily burrow through the ground to attack your back line. Make sure to keep some back up defenses and turrets in your territory!

This is only one of the many new fighting styles the Bugs have. Which events you will encounter will differ every time you start a new territory map, so you’ll have to decide which units and technologies to invest in. This offers a different challenge each time you play. That’s all for this update. We can't wait to see how you will counter these new Arachnid threats. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information!
