Hello everyone, good afternoon!

I'm thrilled to finally announce the official launch of Stardust Sandbox on Steam. This is, without a doubt, one of the most important moments in the project's history.

The development of Stardust Sandbox began on August 5, 2023, originally as a small experimental project that sought to test specific concepts related to simulation and interaction between elements. At that time, there were no great expectations beyond the curiosity of exploring ideas and understanding how far they could go.

Over time, this experiment began to grow. New ideas emerged, new systems were developed, and gradually the project transformed into something bigger, more structured, and with its own identity.

Stardust Sandbox is an open-source sandbox game belonging to the falling-sand sub-genre. This means the world is built from elements that interact with each other through dynamic simulations, enabling the creation of emergent behaviors and often unexpected results.

Throughout its evolution, the game moved beyond being restricted to element interaction and incorporated a new entity system. This system introduces small creatures capable of interacting with the environment autonomously, significantly expanding possibilities and transforming the world into a more living and dynamic place.

Visually, the game features pixel-art graphics designed to convey a colorful and expressive environment, bringing life to the universe where everything happens. The day-night system further enhances this feeling, introducing perceptible environmental changes and reinforcing the sense of continuity and the world's own existence.

Another important focus has always been making the game accessible and comfortable to use. This is reflected in its interface, designed to be clear, visual, and intuitive, using icons and graphical elements that facilitate understanding of its tools and possibilities.

Additionally, you can save your worlds, allowing them to be revisited in the future or shared with others. An achievement system is also present as a way to suggest ideas and encourage exploration, without ever limiting player freedom. After all, the essence of Stardust Sandbox has always been the freedom to create, experiment, and observe.

On January 14, 2025, the project released its first version on itch.io, marking an important moment in its journey. After this initial launch, the game continued receiving improvements and new features. However, due to internal changes and new directions, development remained paused for a period.

Still, the project never ceased to exist.

In late 2025, development resumed with a new perspective, bringing structural improvements, new systems, and a stronger foundation for the game's future. This period was essential to redefine Stardust Sandbox's purpose and prepare the project for the present moment.

Now, with this launch, a new phase begins.

This step represents not just a technical milestone, but also a personal one. Stardust Sandbox has always been a project built with curiosity, patience, and dedication over time. From here on, the focus remains the same: expand the game, refine its systems, and provide ever more possibilities for those who wish to explore and create within this universe.

Community feedback will play an essential role in this process, helping guide the project's future and contributing to its continuous evolution.

Finally, only gratitude remains.

Gratitude to everyone who followed the project at some point, who showed interest, who tested earlier versions, or who simply dedicated some of their time to discovering this universe.

I never imagined this small experiment would reach this far.

I hope you can create, explore, and build your own stories within Stardust Sandbox.
