STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™ changes
After our big reveal at The Game Awards in December, one message became very clear...
You wanted to see more of Star Wars: Galactic Racer™!
We’re so thankful for all the support and positive comments we’ve received so far about the reveal, and we’re excited to be able to share more with you all today.
We unveiled the official gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer during Sony’s State of Play. Be sure to watch until the end for a very special reveal!
Podracing is back!
Alongside landspeeders, speeder bikes, and skim speeders, we’re excited to confirm that podracers will be one of the playable vehicle types in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. We knew we couldn’t create a Star Wars ™ racing game without featuring podracing, but we didn’t want to just recreate podracing from the past – we wanted to do something different. We’ll be sharing more information about podracers and the part they play in Star Wars: Galactic Racer later this year.
As well as discussing what you’ll be racing, we wanted to tell you more about how you’ll be racing in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. You’ll be able to choose from a multitude of modes to suit your playstyle, hone your skills, and challenge your racing ability.
In the thrilling solo campaign, players will be introduced to the Galactic League: an unsanctioned racing league that is currently dominated by the villainous Kestar Bool. In danger of losing his creation, league organizer Darius Pax calls on Shade, a lone racer with a personal grudge against the Bool family, to help take Kestar down and reclaim control over the league.
Players can choose from a branching path of events to earn parts, tools, and upgrades that will give them an edge in the championship. Each choice offers a chance to build out new strategies, try out different vehicles, and work with your mechanic, Hibi, to create the ultimate craft to suit your racing style. Race, adapt, and master your unique strategies as you forge alliances and take down rivals on your path to becoming the champion of the Galactic League.
Alongside the solo campaign, players can hone their skills by taking part in time trials and precision driving challenges in Arcade mode. In addition, Scenarios mode provides even more unique events and challenges to test your racing expertise against specific goals.
Online multiplayer will support up to 12 players. Climb the ranks, challenge rivals, and shape your path as an elite racer. We’ll be sharing more details about each of these gameplay modes at a later date.
