changedI've been reading all the feedback from players, particular in game balance. The main issue is early game and the slow pace at which credits are earnt as well as the death penalty being rage-quit inducing. While Star Nomad is a sandbox game, I wanted the Story Missions to be the defining "fun" factor. So easing early game to draw in more players on the story is the goal. This update has a few changes: * Mercenary & Merchant Guild missions in Al Dhanab (starter region) are now significantly more rewarding. * The Gemini Guild have also received a major buff in credit payout. * Death penalty changed from 20% of ship value to 15%. This should minimize the early game deaths since late-game, credits are easier to come by. * Insurance now also fully covers the 2nd Missile Module (bugfix). * Hanzo Yamada (Boss) will now handsomely reward you during the Story progression. [Extra incentive to get into the story earlier!]. * The Tengu drone corvette is reduced in price. It's a good combat runner for Gemini missions. * Spacebar key added to Pause function. * Added A & D key highlights to Missiles. * Added a sizeable credit reward to several more early Prelude Story Missions. * Guild HQ mission can reward a bonus 25% credits for a "job well-done" or timely completion. * Increased Contra smuggling profitability at several destinations! * Fixed a graphics glitch with the warp effect at a few places. -------------------------------------- Found a nicely done "Let's Play" vid! Please note that this patch addresses the major criticism of the earlier release build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhtZhiVgwLU My own "Let's Play / Guide" vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhibABT0-EE Skill allows you to beat story missions with under-powered ships or under-equipped. The latter half of the story missions (after the Prelude) are very hard, skill is required to pass.
