SquareWorld Unpixeled changes
After way too much time I can finally announce a large update covering various fields, including graphics, sounds and performance. A rewrite and extension of half the codebase now allows for easier and more frequent updates, with some cool new stuff planed in subsequent versions.
The noteworthy changes:
Overhauled the recipe book
Reworked portals
Step sounds
Added 25 additional languages
More digging and block break sounds
Reworked buffs
Items now burn in fire
Material with effects are now animated in inventory too
Added fps slider
Improved buckets + sounds
Improved a few paintings
Added some edges to block items
Improved GUI visuals
You can now harvest plants by right-clicking
Added better rain renderer
Improved item pickup
Improved fog
Added tooltips to arrows and bullets
Torches get destroyed in water
Reworked recipes for the ring, bow and arrows
Tin arrows
Added ash as fertilizer
Safe
Leave blocks
Basalt, slate and pebble
Yellow colored blocks
And probably a lot of smaller improvements I forgot about
The more technical stuff:
Rewrote and cleaned up major parts of the code
Improved render scheduler and light engine performance
Improved zoom especially on non-full HD screens
New font engine and support for most glyphs
Overhauled foliage system
Decreased server latency and improved sync performance
Improved collision engine and overall entity performance
