In Spot Zero, players have multiple ways to deal damage to monsters. Players must decide when to use which attack method, build their own combat resource cycle, and pursue maximum damage output.
Next, we'll introduce these attack methods.
Attack
Each character possesses their own multi-hit normal attack, allowing players to chain consecutive normal attack inputs. Players can also freely interject other attack methods during normal attacks to create diverse combo sequences.
For example, when Kagari's weapon sharpness is above zero, normal attacks can deliver multiple hits. However, when weapon sharpness drops to zero, both the number of hits and damage output from normal attacks will be significantly reduced.
Dodge/Counterattack
When facing monster attacks, players can dodge enemy moves by performing evasive maneuvers. If executed at the right moment, the character will not only avoid damage but also automatically launch a counterattack, dealing significant damage to the monster.
Skill
Each character possesses distinct skills, allowing players to unleash abilities, such as inflict damage, restore health, gain beneficial buffs, or impose detrimental debuffs on enemies. For example, when Kagari's weapon's charge gauge is at 0, activating her skill can accumulate charge gauge, enabling a continuous cycle of attack methods.
Special Skill
In actual combat, a character's special skills possess unique functions and may require consuming specific combat resources to activate. The actual effects of different characters' special skills vary. Each character possesses special attack techniques and mechanics tailored to their character design and combat style.
For example: When Kagari's weapon sharpness is not at zero, she can expend weapon sharpness to unleash a Heavy Strike, dealing massive damage to monsters. When the weapon sharpness is depleted, the number of hits and damage output of her special attacks are significantly reduced. Some special skills combine with normal attacks to create new derived skills, while others interact with specific enemies, serving as countermeasures. Players must choose the optimal timing to unleash special moves or their derived skills based on the battle situation. Additionally, each character possesses a unique enhancement mechanism to amplify the skill's power, potentially triggering an ending-move-level spectacle. This enhancement is typically achieved through a combination of normal attacks and special skills.
Spot Zero Field Mechanism
Spot Zero Field is the core mechanic enabling players to unleash burst damage during combat. By accumulating Spot Zero energy during battle, players can activate the Spot Zero Field. Within this field, enemy time pauses while all three allied members simultaneously attack the enemy. Player actions are temporarily managed by AI, and a card slot appears where cards continuously and randomly generate and scroll within the slot. Players eliminate cards by tapping them. Connecting multiple identical cards allows simultaneous elimination, accumulating points and triggering partner skills. Upon exiting Spot Zero, partners may unleash a fusion skill based on accumulated points, dealing massive damage.
Players can cultivate cards through the Talent System. Upgrading talent effects enhances the rewards and efficiency of card elimination during combat. Combined with randomly obtained Buff cards during elimination, this elevates strategic depth and the satisfying thrill of clearing cards.
After mastering the above attack techniques, players can unleash appropriate moves in real combat based on specific situations, considering the accumulation and consumption of resources like Blade Charge and Spot Zero energy.
