Repeated intro
Hello, this is YNOT. We’re currently in the middle of the Spookitchen playtest, but we’ve released a mid-test patch update! 👻
What changed
- Gameplay
- Store
- Maps
- UI and audio
This patch includes major system changes and several polishing updates.
🔧 Main Changes
Changed from the roguelite-style reset system (where cookware, crops, and tools reset each round) → to a durability-based system, where progress is retained and items wear down over time.
Added durability display and repair functions for tools.
Added durability display and dismantle options for cookware.
Adjusted camera zoom and water coverage ratio for better visibility.
Added a notification system for various in-game events:
When durability is low or tools/cookware break
When night deepens
When business goals are achieved
When the store closes at night
When money increases or decreases
Crops now grow an extra stage each new day.
Tutorial now includes guidance for required ingredients and the cookbook UI.
Minor LQA fixes and UI polish.
💬 Developer’s Note
After observing gameplay during the October 24th demo and carefully reviewing your valuable survey feedback, we decided that these system changes would create a better experience.
The roguelite reset system was a core element of Spookitchen, so transitioning to a durability-based system was not an easy decision—we’ve been deliberating for over half a year. Your feedback on how this new approach feels will mean a lot to us!
⚠️ Note
We apologize that the previous save data is not compatible with this update due to the structural changes. We considered saving this update for the next public build, but we wanted to gather your feedback on the new core systems as soon as possible, so we decided to release it during the ongoing demo.
Thank you so much for supporting and enjoying Spookitchen! We’ll continue doing our best to make it an even more fantastic game. 🎃
