New Quest: Lost Melodies

We are incredibly excited to launch this update alongside the official release of the digital soundtrack on streaming music services! Since Spirit has no spoken dialogue, music is it's voice. During development, there were tracks we absolutely loved that never found a home in the main narrative. We held onto them, and wrote an entirely new story just for them <3

Patch Notes & Additions

New Content

  • New Side Story, Rune, Location, Puzzles, Cosmetics, and all-new collectibles.

Story & Gameplay

  • New Light Essence Cosmetic rewarded at end of game's main story. If you've already finished the story simply revisit Mount Aurora to claim your reward.

  • Light Essence are now awarded when cleansing guardians. Whichever is associated with them. Raven -Purple, Stag-Green, etc. (Light weaver also still sells Light Essence) If you've already cleansed the guardian simply return and open the newly added chest to receive your reward.

  • Secret room added beneath a certain statue.

  • Sunken Rune no longer awarded in various places throughout Stormvale. Now is obtained in new side story.

Improvements & Polish

  • Stacked Stone normal maps improved to retain the fidelity of the original high poly models. Lighting details on stacked stone assemblies will look much better.

  • Sound dampening and SFX when Submerged underwater.

  • Material Quality now locked on high.

  • Lighting and material improvements to Glacial areas.

  • Material fix for sliding particle and other effects that were too emissive.

  • Shaman Spirit now have new body types (female shamans).

  • Player Map updated so new additions to the landscape can be see in the render. Like the paths and landmarks for Tragedy of Veyska and other areas added post launch.

  • Collection tab now shows total for each sub category when selected. If you have Relics selected it'll just show total found for relics and not all collectibles.

  • Various scrolls modified slightly to maintain a consistent "voice" for characters. Specifically those related to the Bard characters in the update. ie Bato, Feon, and Eyma scrolls.

  • Rising and lower water pools now have SFX.

  • Loot added after finishing stag to be consistent with other guardians.

  • Announcement banner in Main Menu now auto scrolls.

Bug Fixes

  • Fox no longer creates bubbles from mouth when standing in shallow water with Runes of the Drowned.

  • Shaman should now show up when reviving and when returning to spot they were revived. Still Testing.

  • Rune carvings that glow when activated for puzzles now properly disable particle effects when deactivated.

  • Collision fix for rubble pile.

  • Wisp Form fixes. Temporal Remnant(body) no longer has emissive markings when using Wisp Form.

  • Hats stay on Temporal Remnant when player is in spirit form/wisp form. With exception to spirit antlers.

  • Photomode icons are no longer slightly squished.

  • Missing material fixes on a few rogue meshes.

  • Wisp lantern bug fix.

  • Lighting fix post bear guardian encounter.

  • Portal targets for bear encounter adjust to fix "jitter-dance" fox bug.

  • Stag guardian animates properly in certain cutscene.

  • Stag antlers particle effect no longer uses player Light Essence color.

  • Code added to more thoroughly Instance all static meshes in world. (Mesh Pack Plugin).

  • Snow WPO removed.

  • Fire particles that were missed now use scalability.

  • Misc meshes converted to nanite.

  • Overlapping trees in forest thinned out. Very moderately.

  • Removed falling rocks and breaking bridge in Dungeon. Was significantly expensive for a very small portion of the game.

  • Ice slide spline meshes reduce to single static mesh. To reduce hitching when they are loading.

  • LODs added to Red Death Trails, and other misc things.

  • Scalability fix for Obelisk and Home Fire.
