We're currently working hard on various aspects of the game, but today we would like to share some details about our dungeons and the process behind them! You'll have the chance to explore several dungeons scattered across the world. These dungeons will feature enemies to battle, valuable loot, and other exciting mysteries to unravel, all while you navigate them with up to four Spherix companions. Whether you venture through alone or with friends.
The dungeon creation began by collaborating with our environment team to decide on the design of the dungeons. Next, we developed a tool to help create a unique structure for each of the dungeons. We dubbed that tool "the dungeon generator". Creative, we know! This tool allows us to input information like dimensions, assets we will use, and enemy/loot spawn points to create a fully playable dungeon every time.
Once the dungeon generator does its magic and creates the structure, we use another tool called the Dungeon Generation Debugger to review the results.
To guarantee a balanced and engaging experience, we’ll put each fully generated dungeon through its paces in-game. This involves testing enemy spawn rates, loot distribution, and other key metrics to ensure each playthrough feels fresh and rewarding.
