The Legend of the Lamplighter

According to Malgan, in our Sphere, there exists a very ancient creature he calls the Lamplighter.

The Lamplighter was once a driver who transported prisoners across a frozen lake. But the ice couldn't bear the weight and cracked, swallowing the unfortunate prisoners, while the driver survived. His soul couldn't bear the burden of guilt, and he vowed to gather all those he had lost.

Now he wanders the worlds. Over millennia of wandering, he has transformed from a man into a terrifying creature carrying lanterns. Each lantern is the soul of a lost person, "saved" from oblivion. And they shine, not with the light of bliss and joy, but with the light of agony and despair. For souls are locked in the cramped cages of the lanterns, forced to burn forever, illuminating the path for their jailer.

Malgan says that if you get lost in the forest and see several lights in the distance, it's best not to approach. "Otherwise, you'll end up like him, heh-heh-heh," and after these words, the creature takes out a lantern, its face twisted in horror.
