Fan Trailer Contest Winner is....

We've had several dozen entries in the SpeedRunners Fan Trailer Contest, which I'm very happy with. People spent loads of time recording and editing gameplay, and compiling that into an exciting trailer.

changedSpeedRunners trailers are difficult!SpeedRunners is one of those games that's rather difficult to sell just in a trailer. It's very easy to sell based on people's reactions playing the game - Let's Players do a great job at that. It's also easy to sell people on the game at shows and lan parties. But a trailer is difficult. On one hand you need to show loads of enticing gameplay, on the other - the editing needs to be exciting, and you need to explain what is going on. I bet everyone who participated realized these challenges halfway through the editing process :) Welcome to my world! There was loads of debate on which trailer is the best. Amongst the several great entries, one trailer took me by surprise. As a marketing guy, most of the time I'll take the easy way out - outline a list of features, especially in a game like SpeedRunners where it's difficult to tell what's going on. Ultimately, what you need to do is try to explain the "feeling" of a game. Great trailers do this self-explanatorily, and we have one here.

Congratulations to BorderTheA

BorderTheA managed to create a trailer that has no text, yet captures the core essence of SpeedRunners. How the game has you almost break your controller in a tough match. What it's like to successfully land a match-defying overtake. I suggest you check the trailer out! Notable mentions are with...

Taters for making an exciting gameplay montage with an interesting choice for music
