Speed Rivals v1.2.2 – Model Train Teaser Update
Hi everyone,
We’ve released a new update for Speed Rivals: v1.2.2.
This is a small but special update, because it introduces something a little different: a train-inspired vehicle that can be used to simulate the feeling of model railway layouts, but with the fast and accessible slot-based mechanics of Speed Rivals.
A First Look at Model Train Gameplay
With this update, we wanted to experiment with how the Speed Rivals formula can work beyond cars.
The new train-style vehicle keeps the same core idea: simple controls, precise timing, and tracks where speed management matters. But visually and thematically, it starts to move closer to the world of model trains, miniature railways, and diorama-style layouts.
It is not a full train simulator inside Speed Rivals, but a small playable teaser of the direction we are exploring.
Introducing Speed Rivals – Model Trains
We’re also using this update to officially point players toward our next game:
Speed Rivals – Model Trains
You can find the Steam page here:
Speed Rivals – Model Trains will take many of the ideas we’ve been developing in Speed Rivals — track creation, miniature environments, user-generated content, Steam Workshop support, and local multiplayer systems — and adapt them to a new game focused on model railway layouts.
The goal is to build a game where players can create, decorate, and play with their own railway dioramas, mixing the charm of model trains with accessible gameplay systems.
Why Add This to Speed Rivals?
Speed Rivals has always been about miniature racing, track building, and creative layouts.
Adding this train-inspired vehicle allows us to test the idea in a simple way, while also giving the community an early look at the direction of our next project.
If you enjoy building circuits, decorating dioramas, and experimenting with tracks, we think Speed Rivals – Model Trains may be something you’ll want to follow.
What’s Next?
We’ll continue improving Speed Rivals with more updates, fixes, decorations, and editor content.
At the same time, we’ll keep developing Speed Rivals – Model Trains as our next step in expanding this creative track-building universe.
Thank you for playing, building, and supporting our games.
See you on the track — and soon, on the rails.
