The Steam Next Fest has now come to an end, and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who played our Demo!

Over 70,000 players tried the Demo, and thanks to you, SpaceCraft ranked among the top 25 demos out of more than 3,500 during the event.

The good news doesn’t stop there. We also gained new wishlists during the event, bringing our total to 300,000!

We’re incredibly proud to have reached this milestone. To put it into perspective, this is the highest number of wishlists any game from our studio has accumulated before release.

It goes without saying that we’re thrilled with the positive reception the Demo has received. Because of this, we’ve decided to keep the Demo available on Steam, so anyone who missed the event can still try it out.

Of course, the game is still in development, so here are some of the main changes we’ve made over the past week based on your feedback. These changes apply to both the Demo and the Playtest:

  • New settings options:

    • Mouse sensitivity adjustment

    • Invert Y-axis

    • Toggle default sprint or walk in first-person

    • Option to disable screen shake and certain camera effects

    • Full key rebinding

    • FOV adjustment

    • UI scaling

  • Non-intrusive control hints for certain actions

  • Mining can now be performed by using left-click

  • Server stability improvements

  • Removed nearly all known Demo soft-lock situations:

  • Ongoing fixes for players experiencing issues launching the game

  • Additional fixes

We also have several improvements currently in progress that will arrive in future updates:

  • Improvements to ship controls to refine the overall feel and make them less arcadey

  • Additional control hints, particularly in the Ship Editor

  • Further optimizations to reduce stuttering and improve loading times

  • Continued server stability and performance improvements
