Repeated intro

Greetings Scavengers,

What changed

  • Balance
  • Gameplay
  • Events
addedGrenade countdownGrenades now have a visible 3 second countdown showing their area of effect. This makes it easier to get out of their damage radius and to better target enemies. They now also cause any mineable rocks in their area of effect to be destroyed!
changedShotgun shatterAs well as blasting Entity, the shotgun will now also have a chance to shatter any mineable rocks you hit with it. Level 3 shotguns could be a time saver.
removedFetch Drones discontinuedScavCorp Fetch drones were an early tech designed to assist Scavengers by retrieving nearby trash. However, since the introduction of Trash-tor Beams (like tractor beams!) and pilotable rigs, they are no longer useful and tend to create confusion and poor efficiency. ScavCorp HQ has now made the difficult decision to retire this tech going forwards.
addedFetch Drones discontinuedExisting scavengers will find they can still access these devices in legacy saves, however they are no longer supported and will not appear in new runs. Trash-tor beams combined with Conveyor Pads and Rig Piloting are now the recommended approach to automation input:
changedRubble troubleThrough early access I had quite a lot of feedback that it can be frustrating when mined rocks fly off into space. This is now tweaked so that rocks will stay in the general area and not yeet into orbit.
changedReward varietyCompleting some quests will now give you more varied quest rewards besides just money, including Clarity (time slow buff), Defense (armour buff) and Thermal Grenades.

It has been a busy week here, so I decided to post another update in addition to the Flashlight Update!

Lets get into it.

Grenade countdown

Grenades now have a visible 3 second countdown showing their area of effect. This makes it easier to get out of their damage radius and to better target enemies. They now also cause any mineable rocks in their area of effect to be destroyed!

Shotgun shatter

As well as blasting Entity, the shotgun will now also have a chance to shatter any mineable rocks you hit with it. Level 3 shotguns could be a time saver.

Here's a Scavenger blasting some rock with a shotty before blowing some more up with a nade:

Fetch Drones discontinued

ScavCorp Fetch drones were an early tech designed to assist Scavengers by retrieving nearby trash. However, since the introduction of Trash-tor Beams (like tractor beams!) and pilotable rigs, they are no longer useful and tend to create confusion and poor efficiency. ScavCorp HQ has now made the difficult decision to retire this tech going forwards.

Existing scavengers will find they can still access these devices in legacy saves, however they are no longer supported and will not appear in new runs. Trash-tor beams combined with Conveyor Pads and Rig Piloting are now the recommended approach to automation input:

Rubble trouble

Through early access I had quite a lot of feedback that it can be frustrating when mined rocks fly off into space. This is now tweaked so that rocks will stay in the general area and not yeet into orbit.

Reward variety

Completing some quests will now give you more varied quest rewards besides just money, including Clarity (time slow buff), Defense (armour buff) and Thermal Grenades.

Here's the full changelog:

Build 0.76

-Some NPCs give random items on quest completion. -Grenades have audible countdown and expanding red holosphere to warn of radial damage area so you can avoid explosion. -Grenades shatter mineable rocks. -Shotguns blasts will shatter mineable rocks. -Laser mined rocks will not fly off into space when mining. -Increased explosion size of Entity. -Fixed bug to prevent sparks floating in air for a few seconds if structures are destroyed -Fixed bug where grenade splash damage is at correct point of collision -Retired Fetch Drone

Thanks,

Al.
