🛠️Experimental Playtest Updated V.0.9.0.12
✨ Thank you everyone for providing feedback on the experimental branch for Space Scum. We've made a few changes since our latest closed playtest.
🎮 How To Join The Playtest
Right click your First Blood demo app
Select "Properties"
Click "Game Versions & Betas"
Select "Experimental"
Let the game branch download and hit play
Changes since V0.9.0.4 Playtest
Battle Start Screen
Flee and Tactical Withdrawal options replace the old retreat system
Configure Crew button lets you swap gear before committing to a fight
Tactical Map
Character highlight added on mouseover
Movement and abilities have new visual edge to better see ranges
Icons combined into a single display, shown in toast notifications
Pounce ability added to Varanus
Bilehusks now leave a poison effect on the ground after attacking
Smoke Grenades added to some enemies
AI
Multiple improvement passes
Pathfinding performance improvements
World Map
Wandering behavior reworked
Animals now avoid roads
More clearly shows which resources are being consumed and warns when running low
Recruit & Crew Menus
Significant UI rework across both menus. Menu should now give indication of how good a character is at a glance
Economy & Balance
Wages increased with compound scaling on level-ups
Provisions prices increased (food, medical, repair, thermal regulator)
Trade good prices capped; quantity in settlements reduced
Mission rewards reduced
Max 1 active mission at a time. 2 max with vehicle unlock
XP progression made less severe
Misc
New crew symbols with colour swatches on the personalize screen
Minor skill tree rearranging
Many new sounds added
New female voices added
