Space Reign changes
Let's take final look at what's coming for the Update 1.0, which will bring the third and final Chapter to Space Reign.
Update Delay
With more time needed than previously expected, we are now aiming to release Chapter 3 and the 1.0 Update between end of January and first half of February. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience as we continue working hard towards the release. Once the launch date is locked in, we'll let you guys know.
New Ship Class - Support Ships
As fleet sizes grow, so does the demand for supplies. To address this, a new ship class is being introduced: support ships. These vessels can resupply and repair your fleet in the field, reducing the need to constantly return to stations. While extremely valuable, their lighter armor and limited firepower mean they rely on stronger combat ships for protection.
Koi-class Support Corvette
A fast and cost-effective solution for in-sector fleet resupply, the Koi is the smallest combat resupply ship available. Its light frame demands careful positioning away from enemy heavy weapons fire.
Hestia-class Support Frigate
The Hestia strikes a solid balance between fleet resupply, agility, and defensive capability, making it a reliable support vessel for Novatech fleets.
Kirin-class Support Barge
The largest support ship available, capable of resupplying a significant portion of the fleet during prolonged engagements. Its solid armor and five weapon hardpoints—including one S2—allow it to contribute defensively while performing its logistics role.
Ship Upgrades
Inspired by the Endless Mode, you will now be able to upgrade every ship in your fleet directly through the Fleet Roster window using credits. These upgrades provide an additional way to fine-tune ship performance and maximize their combat efficiency.
New Quadrant and Sectors
Chapter III introduces a brand-new Quadrant, along with new sectors where you’ll deploy your fleet and engage in combat. These locations feature new backgrounds and include the core of Tyrcorp’s operations, which you’ll be tasked with destroying.

More QOL Updates & Tweaks
Custom Corp Name
Finally, it's here! The option to give the player corporation a custom name. Choose wisely.
AI Fighter Module Targeting
Fighters have been updated to target ship modules instead of only attacking the hull. During combat, fighters can now damage or destroy individual systems, including weapon modules.
Target selection is randomized, which means fighters may engage different modules across encounters. This should make fighters more useful against destroyers and cruisers.
Fast Travel Speed Adjustment
Fast travel speed has been increased by three times following user feedback. With the higher speed, ships were able to reach destinations much faster, but this also introduced cases where ships would overshoot their target.
To address this, we added anti-overshoot logic that reduces ship speed as it approaches its destination. This allows ships to decelerate smoothly and stop at the correct location while maintaining the increased travel speed.
Additional Polish and Fixes
In addition to the features showcased above, we’re continuing to work on fixes, balance tweaks, and overall polish. As a two-person team, we’re doing our best to refine every aspect of the game, with many of these changes to be detailed in the update’s patch notes at launch. Stay tuned.
Can't wait for all of you play Chapter III!
