Greetings, Spacefarers!
We have exciting news to share. Space Haven now has a Full Release date set for May 13th. It’s been a long road to get here. It feels monumental to approach the 1.0 after all these years.
At its core, Space Haven has always been about building something piece by piece. Your ship, your crew, your own way of surviving out there. Our design philosophy has been to treat Space Haven as a creative project, without a set-in-stone roadmap, and whenever possible we've tried to incorporate wishes from you, the players.
Creating a game from scratch can be extremely challenging and time consuming. Colony sims with systems, simulations and crew AI carry with them a ton of time consuming puzzles to solve. It requires what feels like endless discussions to try to avoid the pit falls and feature creep while trying to perfect the intuitiveness, flow and pace of the game.
With Space Haven we hope that somewhere along the way, the game becomes more than just systems and mechanics for you, our players. A colony sim you enjoy to discover and play, a goal we've had in mind since the beginning. All these years, from the bottom of our hearts, we've done our very best to deliver to the best of our capabilities.
We collaborated with our composer to create a new main menu with new main menu music.
To celebrate this announcement we have once again collaborated with our composer Paul Zimmermann and implemented a new Main Menu with new Main Menu music! The update is already live so you can check it out and let us know how it feels. If you miss the old main menu music we can add it to the options in the game. Let us know!
