Space Game: Star We There Yet? changes
To say we've been busy is an understatement. We've got a ton of new features to release today!
In addition to a bunch of quality of life improvements and gameplay tweaks, we're adding three new features based on suggestions from users - Super Space Junk, Mega Boosts, and Friend-Password battles!
Super Space Junk are like the little Space Junk objects you collect, but BOSS mode. They have HP, boss music, and everything. And the Mega Boosts are special cool-down abilities that give you more options and temporary upgrades whenever you need them.
These two features give players more to do and look forward to in the "idle" part of the game.
And for enjoyers of the Merge Battle system - we've added ways to make battling with friends much easier - Friendly Battles!
Just queue up for battle, create a "password" by picking three Crew characters, and send that info to your friend. Then when they queue up - boom! Friend fight!
Friendly battles also don't cause you to lose Crew if they die. So play as much as you want! The rewards for victory have been toned down though from regular PVP, so keep that in mind if you're looking for battle loot.

(Feature) Super Space Junk has been added to the game! These "uber" junk can yield huge rewards like Aurite and even Gems, but must be destroyed in a limited amount of time to get them. Their HP scales depending on the rarity of the item, and can be destroyed faster if your manual tap level is high. Some of the junk require a minimum destination and/or warp level, so keep on tappin! Even if you can't completely destroy them in time, they will "shed" a portion of the reward at various HP percentages, but the biggest reward is granted by destroying it.
(Feature) Mega Boosts have been added to the game. These special abilities cause a number of temporary effects, including to boost your Tapper, or to cause a surge of space junk meteors to appear! There are 5 to unlock, and and each has a minimum Destination to reach before they do. Details about the boosts can be seen by tapping on them, and they can be "quick-activated" by press-and-holding on them. They cost some Aurite or Gems to activate, and have a cooldown ranging from minutes to hours.
(Feature) Re-added the New User Rad Batch Bundle, if anyone who missed it. You'll have 48 hours from your first login to purchase it. It's got good stuff in it!
(Feature) Matchmaking against "Random" players now grants rewards for queue-sitting.
(Feature) Matchmaking against "Random" now shows other online players an alert icon.
(Feature) CPU battles now have hard/medium/easy modes. We're still tweaking these, but give'em a whirl!
(Feature) Latency is now shown.
Change: Grandma Ozie's ability no longer applies "Dizzy" (where you can't attack or use your ability for one turn).
Change: Sir Archibald's ability is now "always on" (even if he's not active).
- ChangeFirst Time User Experience added for all Mega Boosts.
Change: PVP battles now grant starting/max HP bonuses for crew, as intended. Level 100 is the effective cap, which will start your crew with 150 HP.
Change: Some story battles now have a minimum Destination.
- ChangeDismiss on the mission dialog is renamed to "snooze" - snoozing missions will place them back in the pool of available missions to be drawn from later.
Change: Fonts and text sizes have been standardized throughout the app to make things more readable on mobile.
Change: Kevin no longer dies on every mission - if you spend gems or auto complete the mission when it's free, he'll live.
- ChangeUpgrade "My-Gelling" has been changed to award 1 gel per level per crew that dies (instead of just a chance at bonus gel).
Change: In battles, a sound is now played when it becomes your turn.
Change: Debris now awards a flat amount which scales per destination to make "early journey" debris more valuable.
- ChangeTons of additional cutscenes, missions and rewards have been added.
- ChangeThe upgrades dialog section has been changed a little bit to make the upgrades more readable.
Change: The formulas for upgrading have been nerfed to make them more affordable at lower levels.
Change: Story battles now have cutscenes.
Change: Pressing the brakes at a Destination now plays a sound effect when arriving at a destination.
Change: Missions (and super boosts) slide off the screen when arriving at a Destination.
- ChangeMako's story mode battle has been tweaked.
- ChangeSpace Cow timing has been changed a bit. Some players will see them more, some will see them less.
Change: Completing a mission for 0 gems will no longer pop up a confirmation dialog.
Change: Add autotap throttling to other things that shouldn't be autotapped.
Change: Reordered store sections.
- ChangeAdded gem confirmation to purchases.
Change: If you don't have enough gems and click on a gem purchase, you'll be zapped over to the gem section of the store.
Change: The hitbox of the ship has been embiggened for smoother click action.
- BugfixAvailable gel layout doesn't overlap when you first open the crew dialog box.
Bugfix: Disconnections due to keepalive failures now properly award you the lost time.
Bugfix: Popping invalid space junk will no longer "freeze" a debris icon on your screen.
Bugfix: Story battle mode blockers now properly block access until the story battle is live.
Bugfix: Store mode dialog now resets when navigating away from battle.
Bugfix: Disconnection by server now handled properly on the client.
- BugfixFixed upgrade bug that didn't show the description if the ugprade were at level 0 for some upgrades.
Bugfix: Exhaust flames on the ship no longer detach for multiple warps close together.
Bugfix: The "X" button on super boosts now works.
Bugfix: Clicking on the Space Cow after having not clicked anything else will no longer award nothing.
- BugfixFixed a bug where 2+ stacks of noxious toxins wouldn't fall off when Mylo died.
Bugfix: Clicking a storymode battle button multiple times will no longer restart the animation.
- BugfixFixed a bug where the first adwatch after being offline for a while would instantly fill the meter.
Bugfix: Networking outages while first starting the app won't prevent you from connecting when the network returns.
Bugfix: Disconnections due to keepalive failures now allow you to reconnect.
Bugfix: Reconnecting while already connected won't throw away progress.
(Steam) ALT-F4 now quits the app.
Thanks to everyone for your patience while we were working on all this! We wanted to give players more things to do in the Idle part of the game, and we hope you enjoy the new Super Space Junk and Mega Boosts cool down abilities!
