Space Defender changes
New Features
Deterministic Procedural Generation: Explore a more consistent and immersive universe with predictable planet and station generation.
Persistent Galaxies: Planets and stations now retain their location, inventory, and credits between sessions for a seamless experience.
- Game MapPress M to open the new galaxy map and navigate with ease!
Enhanced Ship Combat: Aim and shoot freely in any direction (within limits), independent of ship rotation, for smoother and more dynamic battles.
- New SoundtrackEnjoy 30 new music tracks! Check out the creators at alkakrab.itch.io.
- New Sound EffectsFresh audio effects added (work in progress, more to come!).
Low Health Warning: A red vignette screen effect now visually alerts you when your health is low.
- Dynamic Difficulty ScalingNew mechanism adjusts challenge based on your progress for a more balanced experience.
- Loading ScreenAdded a loading screen for smoother transitions.
Improvements
- Early Game EconomyIncreased the amount of credits that the early stations own.
- Pickable ObjectsImproved collision detection makes picking up objects easier and more intuitive. Pickable objects also float for longer before disappearing!
Large Ship Handling: Boosted rotation speed for large player ships, enhancing maneuverability.
Bug Fixes
Addressed various bugs to improve overall stability and gameplay experience.
