The Future of Space Cat

Hey everyone. I know it's been a bit dormant here, so I figured now would be an appropriate time to give some sort of update on what's to come.

Repeated intro

Hey everyone. I know it's been a bit dormant here, so I figured now would be an appropriate time to give some sort of update on what's to come.

added- THE SOUNDTRACK -The current soundtrack (for v1.0) is available at argagonky.bandcamp.com I plan on adding the rest of the tracks from the update at the same time I release 2.1. This is because there will be new tracks with that update, and likely the last update to include new original music. As for the arranged soundtrack, I have no news on that. I'm still working on it but it's taken a bit of a back seat to my other projects at the moment. There are quite a few new arrangements coming in 2.1 (including, finally, BGM1) but don't expect the finished arranged soundtrack anytime soon.

- THE NEXT UPDATE -

Space Cat has been on the back burner for a while, mostly due to complications in my personal life, but I haven't forgotten about the game, or the people who have supported it. Luckily, I still have more plans for Space Cat. The game itself still needs refinement. There are things I want to clean up, such as the menus, physics, and Adventure Mode. I'm not going to get into major details quite yet, but there's always going to be work needed to be done on Space Cat.

- PORTS TO OTHER CONSOLES -

I mentioned before that I want to port the game to consoles at some point. Now, I don't have any plans in motion quite yet, but with YoYoGames announcing the release of the Nintendo Switch module for Game Maker Studio 2, I will be looking into that as soon as possible and making it my top priority. I've stated that the Nintendo Switch is the perfect console for Space Cat, having a strong focus on local multiplayer and portability. That said, until I get the Switch version out, I don't have any plans to look into other consoles.

- THE SOUNDTRACK -

- ARGAGONKY -

If you follow my SoundCloud, you may have noticed that I'm working on another game. I don't have a scope of how big the project is going to end up being, but it's been making solid progress and showing a lot of potential, so I don't think going back to Space Cat is going to hurt the project that much.

- CONCLUSION -

So, in summary...

  • I'm working on 2.1

  • I'm looking into the Nintendo Switch!

  • The rest of the soundtrack is coming with 2.1

  • The arranged soundtrack is still going to take a while.

  • I have another game coming, details soon.

I think that covers everything. See you all in the next update!
