changedthen tear it up!Here's a video of it in its early stages as an example; it's done now, so go play it in its full glory. I didn't expect it to turn out so nice, but I am so happy it did, and it's good for players to try.
addedthen tear it up!Southpaw Outlaw has a lot of unique creative systems, but this new one brings a lot to the table for those who just want to let loose and go fast.
addedthen tear it up!The Merp Ball is my take on the concept of our very beloved genre-specific ability to morph into a ball. Usually, it's the first thing a player might collect. But, observing how the quicker members of the gaming community use such mechanics, I put it last to make traversing wide levels quicker. Crawling is turning into a loaf, so I don't need a ball; I have something smaller. Its conception was an addition to the ground pound, since orange cats in this universe are rocky, Southpaw can not only turn into a weight, but also a boulder. She rolled, but hilariously, her default settings made her bouncy, so I simply had to add that. Holding JUMP makes her bounce like a rubber playground ball. All the while, you can click and hold any crayon function, and she'll draw as she rolls and bounces. Pretty chaotic, but fun nonetheless.
addedthen tear it up!There was always the same reaction, and I am sure you have seen it as well. That one-second clip in the current trailer where you notice the cool "Sonic Section". You aren't the only one. The demo is actually pretty slow, and there are a lot of new mechanics to learn in this game. It will be a while until that "Sonic Section" delight pays off. So, I brought it to you early. This is exactly why the Extras menu has been there since the start. This place will collect all the cool mechanics along the way and make areas to experiment with them. This will also be a prime testing area for custom content down the line. As most things are easily unlocked. It is, essentially, a place to play in creative mode. What is a cat game without cat toys?
changedthen tear it up!Throughout storymode as well are lots of improvements. Most areas are fleshed out except for major story elements. It'll take time to animate and coordinate the cutscenes, but before I brew some coffee and hunker down for some long hours of animation, I wanted to provide something for people to play using the cool systems I've made. I will try to stream on Twitch as the coming days start to lean deeply towards art.
