Solo Chess changes
The game is now officially feature complete. This means that the full release version will be exactly as the current demo. I just pushed patch 0.6.9 now.
Introduction
The main difference between the demo and the full release is the amount of content. Also, the demo doesn't have unlocks. At the end of a run you are prompted to wishlist the game instead of unlocking content and going back to the title screen. Some content is also locked, even though it's available in the game. Not sure if I should unlock it from now or not.
Let's go through all the content.
Decks
Right now, the game only allows you to select the "Standard" deck. However, the game already has 6 decks implemented. This means 5 decks can't be used. Honestly, I am not sure if players should be able to unlock them in the demo. The full release will have around 10 decks.
Difficulties
The game only offers one difficulty. However, all the difficulties are implemented (10 levels besides the default one). Same issue as the deck.
Pet Cards
The current demo has 50 pet cards. The full release will have more cards, but I am not sure how many, probably something in the 70-100 range.
Food Cards
There are 7 food cards (one per combo) and 5 extra potions that can be used as items, so 12 overall. Therefore, the goal is to add more item like cards for the full release. The final number will be around 20-30 cards.
Activities
There are 15 bosses, on top of the 2 default activities. The number might double for the full release. But it depends on how interesting the current activities are because I might rework some of them.
Charms
There are 4 charms in the game. I am not planning to add more for now.
Status Effects
Same as charms.
Bindings
These are supposed limitations set on cards. However, there is only one binding in the game that's present in the last difficulty (level 10). So technically, you will never encounter it in the current demo.
Mystery Gifts
Right now, only 9 are available in the shop. Should be increased to 15-20 effects for the full release.
Conclusion
That's it for now. Obviously, I am not mentioning balancing here because it's a given. I tried to make things clear for the current build so that you know what to expect and you can help with feedback.
