changedHi there! As previously mentioned in the challenge update, I wanted to start a devlog for Snowbound to keep you all updated on what's going on outside of demo updates. Today I'll be going over progress so far on the next update, which will be the fishing update!
changedThis past week, I've been working hard on getting the basic functions of the fishing update ready. I was successful, and now there's fishing in the game!
changedThe fishing mechanic in action.
addedYou can't see it clearly in the above gif, but after finishing the minigame successfully the fish is added to your inventory. The way the mechanic works is that you time your presses while the cursor is over the light part of the bar, and this fills up the progress meter above. Each time you fill the progress bar it gets a little harder.
addedWhat is currently unimplemented but planned is that different rarities of fish will require more stages to be completed before they're caught. I plan on working on that next week, along with incorporating fishing with the rest of the game (balance and related upgrades). Additionally, there's going to be some fun new farm buildings to interact with as well!
addedOne of the new buildings coming soon, can you guess what it does?

Fishing will be available from depth 2+, so a portion will be available in the demo but most fish will be unavailable. Additionally, most related upgrades will not be available in the demo.
I hope this gets you all excited for the next update, stay tuned next week so you'll be able to try it out!
