A long time ago, following the challenging release of Torn Away, the studio perelesoq went bankrupt and began brainstorming their next game...
We wanted to spend the next few years of our lives working on a game that tells important stories in settings we truly care about - just like Torn Away - but without the dark emotional weight. And so, a game about a small shop (kiosk or larek in russian) in snowy 2000s was born.
Our team’s childhood and youth unfolded during the freewheeling 2000s. In Lenin St. Geek Shop, we’re piecing together fragments from that era: everything from long-discontinued products (RIP KISSables) to the little daily rituals that shaped life back then, and those vaguely familiar faces of kids from the neighborhood courtyard. We hope our game will help you unearth a few warm memories of your own!
For those curious about the neighbor's kiosk: we’ve known the developers of I Have No Change for a long time. If you haven’t tried their playtest yet, definitely jump in! I Have No Change If our larek is Chandler Bing, their kiosk is Ross Geller. We accidentally announced our projects in the same week and have been developing them in parallel. Their playtest is moving a bit faster, but honestly, we admit we’ve bitten off more than we can chew.
Even now, it’s clear how different the gameplay experiences will be. This is one of those cases where the "larek/kiosk theme" can’t possibly be covered by a single game. Here’s to everyone getting their own stall!
