COMING SOON - UPDATE v1.5
This soon the be released update will resolve many of the initial teething issues discovered by the initial Early Access players.
Based on this feedback, I discovered that the main concern was that the handling needed additional work. So, I listened to you guys. The physics for the cars have been completely reworked, 100% better handling and they now come with tweak options. Additional cars are being added and much more, get ready!
Issue Raised
Cars 'slip' too much / don't handle as well as expected.
Result
Complete overhaul using a new physics system.
Request Raised : More cars would be good Result : Although this is an ongoing topic, some new cars and variants have been added.
Request Raised
Can we have car options to tweak the settings?
Result
Additional features are included in the new version to toggle traction control, car steering assistance etc.
Request Raised
Multiple cameras would be good.
Result
Multiple cameras have been included in the new version, a smooth follow, in car cockpit, rotary mouse controlled (for cool drift angles and recordings) and a couple more for fun.
Request Raised
Gear sounds, boosts and engine noises don't sound or work as expected.
Result
A new audio system has been installed using gear ratios for a more enjoyable experience. Additional car engine sounds are being added.
OTHER UPGRADES There are also a few other upgrades to the game functionality in general. I discovered that the difficulty in setting up the cars handling came from the variety of tracks. The drifting courses required a different setup to the harder tracks such as NEO TOKYO. To resolve this, I'm introducing a tyre setup system where drift tyres will be used in the right environment and track or higher grip traction tyres and power ratios used on alternative tracks.
EXAMPLE A drift setup where crazy scores can be achieved is used on certain maps such as drift zone. Friction is adjusted, traction control is disabled and damage enabled. Vehicle torque is cranked up and the back end allows donuts galore. In comparison, a track setup is used for the track races, drifting is still possible although the vehicle setup is completely different and focused on more competitive racing without flying off the track accidentally.
I aim to get this rolled out asap so stay tuned and if you would like anything else integrating, I'm opening the door again for suggestions so please comment your thoughts below :)
As always, bring a lead foot!
