Hello!

Slumberer's Universe is back, and this time with an interactive developer commentary!

Please watch this awesome trailer:

The developer commentary tells everything about the development process of the game, and my experience with it. It has a LOT of information packed in it, about many different sides of development. There are explanations of different story elements, the technical challenges (and also solutions to problems), and my own thoughts regarding what I've made!

If you're an RPG Maker developer, or you are developing a game with any other engine, you might learn some stupid mistakes I've made and how to avoid them! If you're just a player, you too might learn a bit about game development. It's fun, I say!

The commentary mode is enjoyed interactively while playing the game. You will find various text bubbles all around the game, which you can interact with. The commentary is only available when starting a new game. If you haven't played Slumberer's Universe beforehand, do not enable the commentary, as it contains heavy spoilers for the whole game!

Of course, the update also includes other minor fixes:

  • Minor enemy balance changes

  • Minor dialogue updates

  • Added better icon symbols for key / button hints for keyboards and XBOX controllers

  • Slightly reduced dodge window timings for controller users

  • Fixed rain sound not playing in chapter 2

  • Slightly edited the title song after finishing the game

  • Fixed multiple minor bugs and visual issues

  • Fixed window duplication bug on certain Windows 11 devices (unfortunately this breaks Steam overlay; as of now, there is nothing I can do to fix this, as this is an issue with Chromium)

And lastly, I know that this kind of update may not be interesting for, like, anyone. It's mainly just me sorting out my thoughts and looking back at the development, but if you're interested, please take a look at it!

Anyway, until next time. When is next time? Is next time tomorrow? Is it after one month? After one year? Never? I don't know yet, but join our awesome Discord community in the meantime! It's small, but it's cozy and fun.
