Slingshot: Escape the solar system changes
Slingshot just shipped a big visual + content update. New ship, new lighting, and three new things to discover deep in the system.
What's new
Redesigned pixel-art ship, every tech upgrade now visible on the hull
Sun-side lighting that rotates with the ship's nose direction
Drop shadow projected onto every planet you fly over, with spherical foreshortening near the limb
Silhouette transit when you sun-skim, with a soft heat-haze blur
Sharper day/night terminators on every body
Three new things hiding deep in the system, no spoilers
Four new achievements
Solar eruptions and 13 hidden anomalies for the curious
Phase Shield orbit illusion: ship now passes properly behind planets it shields through
Plan mode goes cosmic: zoom past the Oort cloud, time slows to a crawl
Voyager golden record glows in your current Spacify track color
Thermal Vents replaces Ion Drive (continuous burn), Solar Collector tops up in solar flares
Engine overheats: long burns lock the engine until cooled
XP overhaul: Gravity Chain bonuses and a veteran bonus after 100 games
