changedThis is a difficult update to have to make, but for about a year and a half now, Slappyball's matchmaking servers have cost much more than the amount of money Slappyball has been making us, even with the minimum amount of servers possible. Ad revenue has been much lower than it used to be and very few people buy DLC or currency for cosmetics. As a small company, the extra cost is a significant burden.

What this means to you as a player: Custom lobby matches hosted by players, practice mode, and AI matches will all still be available indefinitely as they don't cost us anything to continue offering for free. Online matches in Competitive or Casual mode will automatically backfill with AIs instead of with real players.

We appreciate how much you all care about Slappyball and how much support you've shown over the years, and we're extremely proud of what we've achieved. We wish it was a huge hit we could support way more, but we all have to do what we can to survive.

Thanks for all the awesome years slapping balls together,

The Amelore Team
