SLAMPUNKS changes
The demo is live. Grab one or two friends, link up, and go break it. Here's everything that just dropped.
🎸 Two new punks join the squad
Frill is a punk rocker who fights with a guitar and a stack of explosive speakers. He doesn't out-damage the room, he changes it. Land the right buff on your squad and a fight you were losing flips in a couple seconds. Debuff a boss and let your friends finish the job. Bonk is Chonk's little brother, and he wants you to know it. His weapon grows the longer the run goes, swinging into explosive crit damage that scales into the absurd. He inflicts and consumes goo just like Chonk, so a Chonk + Bonk squad turns the whole arena into a hazard the two of you control.
✨ New features
Supply drops - extra-powerful upgrades that land between objectives and hand you general augments. The kind the whole squad fights over.
Achievements - they grant currency and unlock characters and content as you play. This is the first step toward something bigger: real missions that keep you coming back and pay out properly. More on that soon.
Lobby rework - the whole lobby got rebuilt. Separate tabs for character selection, mission details and modifiers, the Armory, and achievements. And yes, full gamepad support.
🎥 Camera modes
You can now switch your camera view mid-run. Press C to cycle through three modes and use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. Top-down when you need to read the swarm, closer in when you want to feel the hit as you launch your buddy at the boss. We also added a spectator camera, so you've got something to watch while you wait to respawn.
⚖️ Balance and changes
Several new general augments, plus reworks to existing hero augments for better build variety
Kitsune rebalanced - her basic attack now fires spread arrows with no combo counter to track
Chonk rebalanced - less immune to attacks during his kinetic ability
Objectives rebalanced - they now gain health incrementally over time
"Big supply drop" objective reworked into "hack the beacon"
Boss attack cooldowns reworked
Slight enemy balancing
Optimization work
Bugfixes
Gamepad navigation and glyphs reworked, plus Steam Deck support
Map environment and objective rework - more sightlines for navigation and a stronger junk-punk quarry atmosphere
Go play it
The demo is free, runs 1 to 3 players, and the funniest moments still come from what you do to each other. Pull in a friend or two and see how broken you can make a run.
