addedSkillwood finally enters Early Access. I think I kept it in demo for too long already, since I see there's enough content to play for an early access version. I supported demo version since january and you helped me a lot with giving feedback, which I used to improve the game. In this perspective nothing will change. Game is still free, I will still listen to your feedback and try to reply in discussions. The only new thing in this perspective - is the discord account of the game . I'm keeping track of my plans, send there future features and track bugs too. I still have my vision, so sometimes we can have different opinions on where the game should go, but I'll still try to listen to feedback and look behind the words of what flaw of the game might make one want something.
changedCharacter selectionNow you can pick one of two default characters to play for. Right now there are only two, but there's a good fundament for further extension. Also, you might notice I did the second character sprite much later as it has little things like hair movement. Hope you like it too
changedSteam achievementsThere are currently 11 achievements in the game which can be achieved pretty quickly. So I guess it's easy gold in 40 minutes or so. But I plan to extend the list in future, so I hope you won't be too frustrated if the "gold" will be taken away at some point. However current one are so basic and logical I don't think I will change them. Maximum - rename or change their sprites.
changedPrestige UI updatesThese updates are based on feedback in steam discussions and in discord. The main updates are:
changedPrestige UI updatesNow in prestige confirm dialog you can see informations how many upgrades you can buy if you always buy the cheapest one and how many more souls you need to earn to buy one more.
changedPrestige UI updatesBefore exiting prestige world back to the main one there's a confirm dialog too. And it shows you how many more upgrades you can buy right now in case you forgot to.

And here goes the traditional part.

Changelog

Character selection

Now you can pick one of two default characters to play for. Right now there are only two, but there's a good fundament for further extension. Also, you might notice I did the second character sprite much later as it has little things like hair movement. Hope you like it too

Steam achievements

There are currently 11 achievements in the game which can be achieved pretty quickly. So I guess it's easy gold in 40 minutes or so. Prestige UI updates

These updates are based on feedback in steam discussions and in discord. The main updates are:

  • Now in prestige confirm dialog you can see informations how many upgrades you can buy if you always buy the cheapest one and how many more souls you need to earn to buy one more.

  • Before exiting prestige world back to the main one there's a confirm dialog too. And it shows you how many more upgrades you can buy right now in case you forgot to.

Music and sounds

I tried to make main menu more alive, so I created simple background music for it and also created sound effects for ui elements like buttons and sliders. I recieved feedback about silent menu multiple times so the main menu background music was in the wait list for too long already. No screenshot's here cause it's, you know, sounds.

Other updates and fixes

  • Rebalanced first forestmade second level upgrades cheaper and added more berry bushes. Game ended up being grindy so I tried to at least minimize it in the first upgradable area.
  • Rebalanced sticks to logs barter. Now you need less sticks for the first NPC. You didn't have too much stick source anyway, so this barter became very stick bushes dependant, which I tried to manage somehow

  • Added new sticky bushes to starter area. For the same reason as written above. The update is not so big, but it almost double the amount of sticky bushes, so it should make sticks to logs trade even easier

  • Fixed this bug of game crashing sometimes when you prestige. It was quite a journey to find it. Hope I succeeded

  • Save player world wherever you are in prestige world or in main world. So when you exited game while presting and load it afterwards you end up in the prestige world, so you can buy all the upgrades and don't wait for the next prestige.

Thank everyone for the support up to this moment. I hope you will enjoy the early access version too. And please, don't forget about the discord to stay in tune with the upcoming plans. Discord: https://discord.gg/MX8Gagsws7
