addedGood morning and happy #screenshotsaturday to all of our dungeon crew! Things are looking up in the dungeon and the Ukuza team has been hard at work expanding the dungeon and adding some amazing things to the game. Lets dive right in to the Skelattack February Dev Update! As you see above, we've been reworking a TON of animations in the game. The goal was to bring more fluidity to the characters, give them more life, and allow them new mechanics. All of the assets in this game are hand-drawn and digitally inked as vector graphics giving them a super clean look. You can see in the gif above, Skully has new idle, jumping, wall sliding, respawn, and attack animations. There are also many new ones not shown here that add new abilities to gameplay and give players much more choice on how they play the game.
addedImber also received new animation updates! Our flappy and friendly sidekick has multiple new animations. We've redone her idle to give her more character and also improved her animation when carrying Skully's bag-o-bones through the air. You'll also see above that there is a brand new, never before seen animation of her doing a corkscrew attack. What could this possibly mean for Imber and her gameplay?! (☉_☉) You guessed it! More gameplay with Imber standalone and as a means of offense for Skully!
addedWe know! Exciting right?! We have lots of secrets in store around new game mechanics, hazards, and story. Speaking of the story, we've been hard at work expanding on the story and weaving narrative throughout the entire gameplay experience. Themes of friendship, love, life & death, and our hero's backstory are now woven throughout the game and the choices players make. Don't worry, we didn't get totally sappy with it! The entire thing is still wrapped up in the Tim Burton-esque quirkiness of the world and characters with funny dialogue and storylines. We have been working on building out two brand new areas of the dungeon that include the Lava Forge where dungeon dwellers forge blades and other materials, and the Crypt which holds the back story of our dungeon dwellers. This also includes new bosses with new hazards, puzzles, and mechanics. In addition to that, we've been expanding on existing levels with new areas and brand new tile assets. Two of those areas have been The Greenery and The Prison.
addedWe have tons more coming your way! New characters, new side quests, new gameplay mechanics, new hazards, and more! We can't wait to show you more of the new things in store. If you haven't already, be sure to add Skelattack to your Steam Wishlist! Also, follow-us on Twitter for daily updates, and join our Discord to chat with other members of the dungeon crew! Cheers and see you in the dungeon!
