Lobby System, QOL and More

New Peer to Peer Lobby System using steam built in feature. You can now browse hosted game or make your own. Once in a lobby you can freely adjust teams, captains and see what everyone else is doing as well.

This new system also comes with 3 new settings that the host can select;

  • Bots - can enable or disable bots for that match. Most competitive games will disable bots but if you and your friends are trying things out than its a great option to have them on for target practice.

  • Random Captains - you can make the lobby all random get given a captain to mix things up

  • Random Weapon - this will randomize the weapon order of unlock similar to how ships works for more variety

Lots of bug fixes, as the switch from server to peer to peer as left the code base in a mess. The main bugs addressed here are;

  • handle connection failures and inconsistent connection details (this is 20 in itself)

  • crashing when opening the scoreboard

  • crashing when the game ended (no more alt-f4 automatically at end of games)

  • fixed the harvester being invisible for the enemy sometimes

  • fixed pings not appearing for non-host players

  • fixed callout not appearing for non-host players

  • and a couple hundred other things like visuals, UI glitches

If you see any other bugs, please let me know in discord. The community there is always welcoming and is invaluable to finding and fixing bugs, I cannot thank them enough!

Balance adjustments, most of these are smaller targeted changes to address certain outliers from the meta. Large balance adjustment and gameplay changes will come when more of the core functionality returns to stable

  • Rusana Golden Coil

    • Double Ammo/Double Reload, by half reload speed is now Double Ammo reduce reload by 8%

  • Towers take 10% reduced damage from player weapons

  • Shipyards take 20% reduced damage from player weapons

  • All player ships move about 6% faster

  • All player ships start with +5 health regeneration

  • Zephy silence duration reduced roughly by 20%

  • Horizon damage reduction augments and baseline for ability was reduced by roughly 20% (it was really tanky)

  • Night bringer disconnects your vision to your team (kinda interested will probably be changed in the future)

  • Helix Flare vision area allows Shrouded enemies in the area to be attacked by enemies (does not remove shroud but while in the area disable the un-targetable by weapon aspect)

  • Chainshot reload reduce by roughly 10%

  • Fixed Tigerfish Battery special not properly spawning

What's in the Oven?

  • Player stats tracking, which will allow a ranked and balance lobby system (so a lobby can be balanced based on skill level

  • Looking at how to bring back skins and skins crafting

  • Balance and new gameplay elements

I have to say the discord community as kept this game alive, they have a queue system with live skill rating while hanging out together. They are truly awesome! and if you want people to play games with or just chill I highly recommend it. For now I appreciated everyone patients as updates come out as its just me and one other person who contribute when we have time
