Shutter Story changes
Hi there!
Here's another quick development update to let you know what I've been up to for the past month.
The first task to get crossed off was the "10 additional photos" stretch goal. After that, I began work on the game's 3rd act. Of course, I can't go into details for fear of spoilers, but know that I had a lot of fun working on this part, subverting gameplay and adding a few surprises. I'm happy to share that this part of the game and the story seem a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see what you all think of it!
Last week, I wrapped up the final ending cutscene! This was a major milestone and it felt so good to finally see that last shot that comes just before the end credits. In terms of endings, the game does have slight variations depending on how you play the game, and this decides the fate of Eli and his family members. So technically, the game is now playable from start to "end"! This also means I can't really share any screenshots - everything is a spoiler at this point :(
Of course, a lot is still missing in terms of polish and cutscenes, so that will follow soon. I'll be holding voice over auditions soon, so expect some sneak peaks at the VO stuff in the coming months :) I will also start work on another very exciting part of the game - Silent Hill 4 inspired hauntings that occur randomly around the house. I haven't planned these out yet exactly, and I'm excited to try out some creative ideas for it.
As mentioned in the previous update, I'm still aiming for a pre-Halloween launch - I'm working really hard to hit this date! For more regular updates, feel free to follow me on X/Twitter, Bluesky or join the Discord!
Thanks for the support so far, and I look forward to talking to you all again soon :)
