For me, the process of making a game usually involves a very wide spectrum of emotions. It can swing from crushing self doubt, to a feeling of childlike euphoria, all within a single day. When making My Friend Pedro the width of the emotional spectrum expanded beyond what I knew possible, in both directions.
With Shotgun Cop Man, I wanted to see if it was possible to spend most of the time making the game on the ‘happy’ side of the spectrum of emotions. I wanted to focus on the parts of making games that feel natural and inspire me the most. The parts that keep me in that sweet creative flow state. It was always a bit of a gamble and uncertainty if a scaled back, focused, type of game like Shotgun Cop Man would work and find its audience. While it’s still early, and the game might not have a similar mass appeal as My Friend Pedro - I’m so, so grateful for everyone who is giving Shotgun Cop Man a chance! I’m so happy most people who have tried it really seem to get it! Get the intention and the whole idea of the game and accept it for what it is.

Now, there’s still more to come for Shotgun Cop Man! The Custom Campaigns/Level Editor is just around the corner and I truly can’t wait to see what people will make with it! And there might just be another little surprise cooking too… I also hope you will enjoy our short documentary film on the rise and fall of Shotgun Cop Man.
